Hearts were heavy this week to hear of the passing of Phyllis Crouse, former Red Bird School teacher and librarian on Saturday. The Red Bird School Alumni Association (RBSAA) formalized her status with the Living Legend Award in October, but students and staff knew many years ago that Phyllis Crouse was a Red Bird legend.

In a season of personal loss, my heart longed for a bit of joy.  Then the Lord gave me that gift through my 8th Grade Bible Class as we practiced and performed our “Cardinal Christmas Cookie” puppet show. 

Out here we don’t always have the finest feast, the nicest clothes, or the fattest wallets. What we have is people. The kind you can call when you’re broke down on the side of the road.

The weather is beginning to feel more like Fall the last few days, and weeks filled with sports programs at Red Bird Christian School confirm the transition from Summer to Fall.

On Saturday, August 2nd, Red Bird Christian School (RBCS) hosted its highly anticipated Archery Day Camp, bringing together 13 dedicated students ranging from 4th to 12th grade for a day of learning, connection, and growth.

this loyal friend and servant of God that graced the grounds of Red Bird Mission and surrounding communities spanning six decades. Bernd was an alumnus of Red Bird Mission School and in recent years served as a dorm parent, soccer coach, and security guard at Red Bird.

It’s a “fur piece” from Red Bird Christian School to Hopkinsville, Kentucky, but Principal Jennifer Wilder and Chasley Collett, K-1 Teacher, made the trek last weekend at the request of Rev. Steve McVay.

May 18th was a joyful day for the 25 graduating seniors at Red Bird Christian School (RBCS), but tears also flowed with the realization that they would be leaving a place that has prepared them for the next phase of life.
