Red Bird Housing, Inc. provides an eight-unit apartment building provides housing for elderly or disabled low-income citizens.

Materials

Transportation Service & Meal Delivery

Provides the elderly transportation to the Dewall Senior Center three days a week and meals on wheels.

In-home and Respite Care is Provided to Home Bound Elderly

Caregiver

A therapeutic social program of supervision and care provided to eligible individuals to enable the caregiver temporary relief.

Physical Improvements and Meaningful Relationships Bring Joy

Housing Improvement

DE WALL SENIOR CITIZEN CENTER

Seniors, over 60 years of age, who live in the Bell and Clay County service area attend the De Wall Center to receive:

  • Congregate meals

  • Socialization

  • Recreation

  • Quilting Bees

  • Craft Classes

  • Sewing Sessions

  • Computers

  • Bingocise

  • Health screenings and programs

  • Trips

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

  • Over 2800 trips were made transporting older adults to the Senior Center, medical appointments, and/or other appointments.

  • 220 Individuals received a Christmas Fruit Basket and a caroling visit.

  • State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) Counseling.

  • Title V - Volunteer Program.​

HOMEMAKER/PERSONAL CARE

Enables older adults to live in their own homes as long as possible.

  • Meals on Wheels

​MEALS ON THE WHEELS

Hot meals are provided to older adults at home.

  • Meals are delivered to the home.

  • Available 5 days a week.

  • Menus are prepared by a licensed nutritionist.

(Aging services are funded in part by CVAAA and Independent Living in accordance with the Older Americans Act of 1965.)
